HUNTLY MINERS' AGREEMENT.
(FBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, December 23. The agreement entered into between the Taupiri Company and the Huntly miners provides that the union undertakes not to cancel its registration under the Arbitration Act. The union shall expel any member who becomes connected with the Federation of Labour or any similar body, and in default the Company may dismiss him without notico. Provision is mado for a fortnight's notice by either side, but employees may be instantly dismissed for inciting the workers to disregard tho provisions of any clause of the agreement, or the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act. The union shall not assist in any strike till' after a secret ballot has so decided by a fourfifths majority, six weeks' notico being subsequently given to the Company. A penalty of £50 a day is provided. The Company undertakes not unnecessarily to cease work and to pay £50 a day to the union during lock-outs.
