THE VACUUM OIL COMPANY.
The Vacuum Oil Company. Moor-liou-e avenue, Christchurch, had a particularly interesting exhibit set out in a_ large tent. Ihe principal features of tho big display wero a collection of new Perfection Kercso.-.o Cooking Steves. and a lady was demonstrating their utility .by actually cooking .scones, dainty-looking cakes, etc., in" the tent, thus showing that t_er>e marvellous stoves, work equally well.in whatever situation they may bo placed. Another striking feature was an exhibit of tho world-famed Gargoyle mobil-oils. Hero was seen all the various oils manufactured for lubricating motor-cars"', etc. Theso are four in number, as it is found that the different makes of cars require special oils. The cans wero particularly attractive, and varied in sizes from one gallon to six gallons. The cans are sealed up at tho works, thus guaranteeing their contents. Pratt's Petroleum Spirits wero also shown, and particular attention was drawn to tho colours 6f the labeLs, the yellow label representing Pratt's famous motor spirit. Other grades of oil were also prominent, including Pratt's lamp oiLs. As an oil exhibit it was noticeable how interesting it was made, .not only by tho quality of the oils siiown.f but by the tasteful manner in which it was also set out. Great credit is due to tho Vacuum Oil Company for the manner in which the goods are packed for the market. Tho by-products of petroleum aro now mado up into such goods as petroleum jelly, axle grease, harness oil, wash oil, etc. •
