At the inquest on Leslie Coves, one of tho victims of the mysterious Catnperdown tragedy, a verdict was returned that tho wound was self-inflict-ed, but whether accidentally or not there was no evidence to show. Victor Coves, tho brother who was seriously wounded at the timo of the tragedy, said he and his brother were friendly, nnd were talking in tho yard when his brother drew a revolver, saying he was going to shoot a rat. Witness tried to get the revolver, and in the struggle it went off accidentally, wounding him. Ho ran away and heard a sec_-d shot. Afterwards Leslie was found fatally wounded. A constable deposed that Victor when in tho hospital, -said, "Leslie tried to shoot himself and I tried to stop him."
