9 RECRUITING THE ARMY. QUEER WEAPONS. ("Timee"-Sydney "Sun" Special C&bta) LONDON, November 10. Sir Francis Vano is organising the suffragettes' army. Miss Sylvia Pankhurlt is an honorary colonel. The first drill will be held on Wednesday. Fifty recruits have already been enrolled, including boxing and fencing masters. The army will be armed with shillelaghs and whalebones loaded with lead. The headquarters are in Bow street. "Colonel" Sylvia Pankhurst lms issued tho following proclamation:— "The Government is afraid to touch Sir Edward Carson, because his forces are strong. We must make ourselves strong similarly, and then tho Government will give anything "we ask. Give your names, men, as recruits for this great people's army."
