The week has been a very quiet one in tho grain trade, and thcro has been little doing, except coastwiso business, chiefly in oats, fowl wheat and potatoes. Offerings of grain are very limited, growers being firm holders, both of wheat and oats. Tho potato trado is not very brisk, and though buyers generally are offering only £3 10s and £3 12s 6d, there are few sellers feven at £3 15s at country stations, and the latter figure : s only paid by those merchants who have orders to fill.- Growers are now pitting their crops in cases where they are not satisfied with the ruling prices. There is no speculative business, as no definite information is available as to whether there will bo a demand from Australia or not. Onions are firmer, and £6 to £6 5s are tho ruling prices at country stations. Tho undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers, at country stations, free of commission, except where otherwise stated:— Wheat—Tuscan 3s ojd to 3s 6d, Hunters 3s 7d to 3s Bd, Pearl 3s 8d to 3s 9d Barley—Prime malting 3s 6d to 4s, Capo barlev 2s 3d. Red Corn—2s 3d. Oats —Gartons A grade 2s Id to 2s 2d, B grade 2s, Duns Is lid to 2s, Danish Is 10d to 2s, Algerians Is 9d to 2s. Ryegrass— ls 6d to 2s 3d. Cocksfoot 3d Jto 3Jd, f.0.b,, tho Bays*"White Clover—To 10d. Cowgrass—9d. Flour—£9 per ton; 1001b bags £9 ss. 501b bags £9 10s, 2olb £9 15s. e Bran-£4 los. local, £4 10s, f.o.b per ton. Pollard—£C per ton. Oatmeal—£l4 10s per ton. patsheaf Chaff—£3 5s to £3 10s, for good sample. Potatoes—£3 10s to £3 12& 6d Onions—£6 to £6 ss. Peas—Partridge 3s to 3s 3d, Prussian Blues 4s. Beans—3s to 3s 3d. Linseed—£lo 5s to £11.
