MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr V. G. I>ay, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. One first offender, a woman, on a charge of drunkenness, was fined 5s and costs, in dcfau.t twenty-four hours' imprisonment. REMANDED. A youth nanicd Reginald Lewis, for whom Mr Cassidy appeared, was chaigod v.ith having sto.en the sum of j £40, the property ol P. S. Nicholis and I Co. Ho was further charged with the j forgery of a bank-book by altering n ; genuine document in a material part, ' and making a material addition to it, with the intent that it should be acted upon as genuine. On the application of Chief-Detective Bishop, the case was adjourned till to-day, bail being allowed in one .surety of £.50 or two of £25. JUDGMENT SUMMONS CASKS. : Orders were made in judgment summons eases as follow : —W. -Stonyir (Mr Lcathrm) v. D. Gibb. claim for £3 2s 8d; to be paid fortnightly, in defauh one week's imprisonment. Andrew Lees (Mr Cuningham) v. R. Matlicws; to pay £S 3s at the rate oi 2s Od per week. Mrs H. Edmonston (Mr Rcnvc) v. J. R.
