At a meeting of the Wellington district of the H.A.C.B.S. council, presided over by Brp. J. \V. Callaghan, last evoning, a resolution was carried, tendering his Grace Archbishop O'Shea. the heartiest congratulations of members at tho great honour conferred on him by his Holiness the Pope in creating him Coadjutor-Archbishop of Wellington, and assuring him of the heartiest support and unswerving loyalty of officers and members in the exalted position to which ho had been raised. Archbishop O"Shea for many years occupied the position of chaplain of St. Patrick's branch, only relinquishing tho position owing to the volume of work which he had to do on being appointed vicar-general of the Wellington arch-diocese. His Grace, as chairman of the Wellington Catholic Education Board, which was inaugurated last year, was tho recipient of a congratulatory message from his colleagues on the Board on His new appointment. The Dominion Executive of tho Now Zealand Catholic Federation also conveyed to bia Grace its heartiest congratulations. Arch bishop O'Shea was chairman of the Provis : onal Committee which drafted the constitution whkh has been adopted throughout New Zealand. Ho has proved himself a great organiser. In him Catholic Societies and organisations have a £rcafc champion, and his appointment is looked upon as a great factor for their advancement in future.
