Tho suffragetto debato in the House of Commons was apathetic. , Many speakers emphasised the fact that militancy had given the movement a strong set-back.

Mr Arnold Ward moved the rejection of tho Bill.

Fourteen suffragist members of the Houso circularised their colleagues to tho effect that -while they -would support tho second reading of Mr Dickinson's Bill, they would vote against tho third reading unless an amendment wore carrunl to bring tho measure into line with the original Conciliation Bill.
