THE PORT DARWIN TROUBLE
PORT DARWIN, May C. Dr. Gilruth, Administrator of tho Northern Territory, has arrived. Tho Striko Committee presented their demands, which Dr. Gilruth refused, stating that ho had not the power to grant them. Hβ offered to submit them to arbitration.
A meeting of the men rejected tho offor, and decided to adhere to their demand for £4 for a week of forty-four hours.
The clerical staff is assisting the crew of tho steamer Linschoten to unload the Government's cargo.
