SCOTT MEMORIAL FUND.

THE COMMONWEALTH GRANT. LABOCR-'S "STRICTURES. (By Cable.—Prce* Association.—Copyright) (Received March 21st, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 20. The Labour Council adopted a resolution that the Federal Government should at least grant the Mount Lyell Disaster Fund a donation equal to the contribution to the Scott Fund.

One speaker declared that the Federal Government had fallen over themselves to kow tow, were hero worshippers, and had forgotten those at their own door.

Another described the Government's Scott contribution as an hysterical outburst of mock patriotism.
