LONDON, March 20. ■ The Labour members of the House of Commons gave a banquet in honour of the Hon. J. Scaddan, Premier of West Australia, who advocated tho exchange of yearly visits by British and Australian Labour leaders. The Hon. \V. A.Hohnan, Mr Keir Hardie and Mr A. Henderson endorsed the proposal.

SCHOOLBOY'S CRIME. ST. PETERSBURG, March 20. Larinoff, a schoolboy. living at Kieff, asked Shokhin, a schoolgirl, to marry him, but Colonel Glukhovtzeff, a friend of the girl's, persuaded her to reject him. Larinoff, believing that Glukhovtzeff was his rival, stabbed him to death, and then proceeded to the girl's house, and fatally stabbed her. The police pursued him along a street, and Larinoff committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver.

JAPANESE IN CALIFORNIA. SAN FRANCISCO, March 20. The Californian farmers are combining to carry laws in the State Legislature preventing Japanese from holding real estate. They have threatened to drive out the Japanese forcibly if the laws are not carried.
