The golf house at Weston-super-mare was destroyed by fire. Suffragettes aru iH'lievcd to have caused the outbreak. At tho meeting presided over by the Mayor on Thursday night, when addresses wero given by the British suffragettes. Miss Newcomb and Mios Hodgo, tho following resolutions were carried unanimously:—"This meeting of citizens of Christchurch convened by tho Mayor desires to express its warm sympathy with tho women of tho British Isles who are struggling to obtain the civil rights which tho women of New Zealand possess and value." "This meeting expresses its hearty approval of the formation of a union to promote tho cause of equal sufFrago and further proposes that the provisional name of such union bo tho Woman Suffrage Union of the Dominions Oversea."
