CHRISTCHURCH SPORTS CLUB.

The Christchurch Sports Club_ will carry out a competition at the King's Theatre on Easter Monday night. The principal event will be a twelveround heavy-weight professional contest between W. Bartlett, the champion of Canterbury, and J. Sharplin, who gave such a lino display of scientific boxing when ho defeated S. .Fitzsimmons in Christchurch in November, 1911. ' At a meeting of tho committee of the Sports Club held on Monday, Mr !C. C. Derrett offered a trophy of the i value of £o for competition during tho ! season, and other members expressed their re-adiness to give trophies if any special competition were arranged, later on in the season. Mr W. J. Moir was appointed chairman of the committee. It was decided to nominate the Minister of Justice for tho position of patron of tho New Zealand Boxing Council, and the seven sitting members for tho position of Council Committee.
