CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.
Tho committee of tho Canterbury Jockey Club met on Tuesday. The fob owing programmes wero apporoved:— Alford Forest Racing Club (with permission to hod the Meeting at Methven), South Canterbury Jockey Club, and Ashburton County Racing Club. A jockey's license was granted to W. Brown. The Chairman reported that he had suspended the apprentice's riding license of W. J. Humphries for throe months for misconduct. Tho appeal against the decision ..f the Kaikoura stewards awarding the Maidon Pialo to Hinetoa, wps dismissed. The evidence showed that though Hinetoa's weight should have been 9st Gib and not 9st sib,°„s shown on tho race card, the clerk of tho scales weighed tho horse out at Sst eMb, and weighed it in correctly.
