(By Cublo.—Press Association.—Copvrijrht.) SYDNEY, February 5. Tho thoroughbred stallion Chestnut, imported by R. Wootton, has arrived.

Chestnut is an aged stallion, who broke down in England recently, and will next season tako up stud duties iv New South Wales. Ho was a successful racehorso m England, and is a half-brother to that good horse. The Story, being bred by Mr J. B. Joel. Chestnut is by Persimmon—Sweet Story, by Peppermint—Stourfield, by Distin— Avon wick, by Sco Saw.

HAVVERA, February 5. The Egmont Racing Club's Summer Meeting was commenced to-day in beautiful weather, in tho presence of a record attendance. Bobrikoff and Lady Menschikoff led into tho straight from Masterpiece, and in the run homo Bobrikoff had no trouble in maintaining a two lengths advantage from Masterpiece, who had half a length tho better of Mendip, with Lndy Menschikoff close up.
