WELLINGTON, January 14. The Wellington Cricket Association has decided to ask the Canterbury Association if it is agreeable to play tho annual home-and-home matches on a gate ns stipulated in the Plunket Shield rules. The Wellington Association suggests February 14th, loth, and 17th. for a match against Canterbury, nt Christchurch, and March 15th,17th, and 18th. for a match \\*ellin£rton v. Canterbury, at Wellington.
A team of cricketers from Weeks, Ltd., played a return match at Tai Tapu on Saturday last, resulting in a win for Tai Tapu by 51 runs. For the winners, the most successful batsmen were A Barnett 24, Dumpleton 23. D. Griffiths 23. R. Penlington 20, and for th© losers Jacobs 17. For Tai Tapu, S. Peryman took three wickets for 7 and Walls three for 19. while | for Weeks. Ltd., Poor© took four for 23. Tho visiting ladies kindly provided afternoon tea.
