SOUTH MELBOURNE v. CANTERBURY.

Great interest is being taken in the return match between the above teams —and in view of the good showing tho local representatives mado against the Victorian visitors at New Year time a close and interesting gamo is expected. In view of the fact that the Canterbury team has been altered by Paterson, Taylor and Woods replacing Sims, Boxshall and Patrick, the public are anxious to see how the now men wm faro. Tlie Association hod not, up to last evening, received advice as. to when th© visitors will arrive. Should they be able to reach Christchurch by tho second express to-morrow from Ashburton (where they aro playing the Ashburton representatives) it has been decided to commence the match at 11.30 a.m. o'i Friday.
Owing to W. R. Patrick being unable to play against the South Melbourne team, F. Woods, of tho Sydenham Club, has been selected to fill the vacancy. The selectors also reouest Perrir. (Limvood) and Boxshall (East Christchurch) to attend practice at Lancaster Park.
