HOKJTIKA, December 30.
The Ross gold mine was pumped dry tonight. The sinking pumps huvo been discharging. 1700 to 1800 gallons of water per minute, which is consideiably more than they havo previously accomplished. Mr Davis (Chairman of Directors) anticipates that driving operations will be csnimcnccd during the present week, providing iha*. nothing occurs to interrupt the working of tho mine.
The recent stoppage waa not as serious as at first staled, and. the deny occasioned by the temporary cutting off of the power will not amount to moio than about two weeks; that if, taking into account the instaUsiJon of tho permanent pumps in their original position, and all other work that was interrupted.
