INVERCARGILL WOOL SALES.
Though shearing has been finished on mauy farms and stations, there remains a good deal of the work to be done, and on enquiry at th© Invercargiil stores on Saturday a "News" reporter ascertained that the quantity of wool forward is small. A firm that usuady heads tho list so far as the wool placed in its hands for sale is concerned, has received only 500 bales though at the first sale last year its catalogue comprised 3100 bales. Tne circumstances, however, are not altogether simiiar, as the sale in 1911 was held ten days later than will be the case this year. It is expected by g.owers that the difficulty in obtaining trucks will be a serious ono as too short a time will elapse between the holidays and the date of the sale to allow the Railway Department to adjust matters to tho best of advantage. Growers are naturally anxious to have tho wool offered on January 17th owing to tho high prices, ruang, as there is no guarantee tliat they will be obtainable at the next sales.
