Possibly arising out of tho Raneo's revolt", a number of Portugueso soldiers violated the frontier, surrounding two villages on British territory at Goa. A man named Schild, a carman, picked up a cage containing £68,000 in bank notes 3nd scrip. A stranger claimed tho case, but Schild took it to the police station, where tho claimant failed to substantiate liis claim, and was arrested.
