INJUNCTION TO BE SOUGHT.
A CURIOUS POSITION. (Received December 2oth, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 25. Mr Holman has decided to allow tho application for an. injunction in., connection with the Government Houso to proceed. The information has been amended by those seeking tho injunction, who now allege that tho land in question is reserved definitely as a residence for tho Stat© Governor. A curious position is thus created, for if the informants win they apparently exclude Lord Denman and his successors definitely from tho use of this residence, and make it the Government's duty to instai tho State Governor there.
The "Westminster Gazette" stated that Lord Denman's eviction suggests that the New South Walos Government possesses a stunted and impoverished view 'of what is duo to the King's representative. Tho whole business is shabby. Sydney might well cultivate tho art of thinking Imperially.
