GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
The "Herald" states that orders have been issued that nothing is to bo disturbed at Government Houso, and it intorprots this to moan a modification of tho Government's resumption policy. It says that. it may bo taken to mean that when Lord Chelmsford retires in March, his successor will bo quartered in tho historic houso with an area stirrounding it about equal to that suggested by Lord Denman.
THE BLAYNEY SEAT. '
SYDNEY, December 18. Three candidates are in tho field for the Blaynoy canipaigu, which already promises to be warm and to produce somo "linen washing."
REARRANGEMENT OF PORTFOLIOS.
(Received December 18th, 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 18. Tho Labour Caucus'decided not to appoint a successor to,Mr Beoby. Mr Cannichaol (Minister of Public Instruction) takes over the portfolio ot Labour and Industry, and Mr Trefle," Minister of Agriculture, assumes tho portfolio of Lands.
