IMMIGRATION.
DIMINUTION TO AUSTRALIA PREDICTED. United Press Association—By Eleetrio Telegraph— Copyright .(Received December 19th, 12.5 a.m.) LONDON, December 18. Mr Percy Hunter, the New South Wales Immigration Commissioner, predicts a considerable diminution of Australian immigration in 1913. There are already signs of a material reduction. Canada is making renewed efforts, paying a 40s bonus for farm hands and domestics, who are more difficult to get in consequence of the rise in wages due to past emigration. Mr Hunter advocates closer co-operation between the Australian. States. Ho returns to Sydney in January.
