COURT OF APPEAL.
(press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, October 1. At the Appeal Court to-day the hearing of Crown cases was resumed. In the case of Rex/v. Tier, prisoner was sentenced to five years' hard labour, and declared an habitual criminal at the last session, and the question now before the Court was, whether his previous convictions wero sufficient to entitle the judge to declare him an habitual criminal. Decision was reserved.
