HORSE SALE AT RANGIORA.

The National Mortgage and Agency Co. of Now Zealand, Ltd., held their monthly ealo of horses at their Tattersal.'e Bazaar, Rangiora, on Friday, when they offered tho large entry of 113 horsts, together with a number of traps, gigs, and harness. The horses comprised heavy draught mares and geldings, unbroken draught colts and fillies, harness and saddile horses, and a number of unbroken liight horses, amongst the latter being a number on account of Mr E. C Pateman, which were sold in conjunction with Messrs Pyno and Co. There was a large attendance of buyors from all parts. Competition was good throughout the sale, and a largo proportion of the entry was sold at satisfactory prices, the whole of Mr Pateman's entry being sold with the exception of five brood mares. Of the total entry 87 were sold, others falling short of vendors' reserve. It is some- time since co many horsm Avere brought under the hammer on one day in Canterbury. Following are some of tho prices realised : —Broken yearlings £3 to £5 10s, two-year-olds £5 to £7 15s, three-year-olds £7 to £8 10s, unbroken half draughts £22 to £27, harness horses broken in ,£8 to £17 10s, draught mares and geldings from 4yrs to 6'yrs £31 to £50. draught mares and gelding "yrs and Byrs £28 to £43, older sorts £10 to £18.
