CHEVIOT.
A meeting of tho committee of the Cheviot Public Library was held on Saturday. Present—Messrs J. * |2. Laugesen (in the chair), Rnes, Allan. McCaskoy, Murgatroyd. nnd Swentfjrl Messrs Laugeseh, Itoss, and Sweney' were appointed a committee for the purpose of arranging a social and dance. It was decided to hold a euchre tournament on'the 11th inst., and prizes were offered by Messrs Laugesen and McCaskey. The offer of Mr Murgatroyd to erect some shelving was iccepted with thanks.
