O- T, Rutherford (The Peaks), H. V. Vickers (Wellington), and H. W. Evans (Reefton). At tho Dniids' Hall, last evening a presentation in the shape of a roll-top desk, with a plate suitably inscribed, was mad'a to Mr G. T. Batley, secretary of the Mistletoe Lodge and late Grand President of tho Canterbury, Grand Lodeo U.A.O.D. Bro- Burgess, prosent Grand.President, who made tho presentation, reviewed the career of the guest of the evening n»s a Druid, and proposed his health. The other toasts honoured were those of "The King" and "The Druids." Mr Batley mad© a suitablo response During the evening a number of musical items were givan.

Mr E. 7 Cutten, town olerk of Temuka. has been compelled to a6k for four months' leave of absence, or in tho alternative to offer to resign, on account of ill-health. Tho. Borough Council, at a special meeting, decided to grant Mr Cutten four months' leave, on condition that he pays a substitute from his salary.
