Th© Prime Minister (the Hon. W. F. Massey) returned to Wellington hy tho Main Trunk lino express this afternoon. Though his visit was only to his homo at Mangare, »and was on* private business, ho was received with enthusiasm at all the stopping places en, rout©. So far as the North Island is concerned, it. was quite clear that the people were satisfied both with tho change of Government and with the personnel of the new Ministry. Tho gonoral opinion of both friend and fo© seemed to bo that it was tho strongest Ministry that had held office in" New Zealand for many years.
During his -journey Mr Massey was interviewed by several deputations, and at Fielding a representative delegation, with the Mayor at its head, camo along and congratulated him on tho success of his party and upon his appointment as Primo Minister of the Dominion.
Telegrams and letters of congratulation continue to pour in npon Mr Massey. Very general satisfaction' is oxpressed at Mr Bell's appointment as Leader of the Upper House.
