AUCKLAND COMPETITIONS SOCIETY.
' The Auckland Competitions Society announce their third annual-Festival, which will be held in the Town Hall, Auckland, for a period of fourteen days, commencing on August 19th. Entries close on Saturday, July.2oth. With a most attractive programmo embracing all branches of music, elocution, literature,, and art, the Society is offering every inducement by way of liberal prize money and valuable trophies to make tho trip to the northern city. The adjudicators for this year aro Mr W. Arundel Orchard (Sydney), music, and Mr W.'-L. Paine (Melbourne), elocution. Any applications for entry forms and information will be promptly attended to by the secretary.
Mr Victor Beck arrived in Christchujeh yesterday to make arrangements for the local season of the English Pierrots.
