(PRESS ASSOCIATION' TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, May 1* At Burnside to-day there was a largo yarding of fat cattle, 260 being penned, consisting mainly of cows and heifers and light-weight bullocks. The quality was fair. Prices for light-weights were lOs. to los easier -than last week's rates; but owing to the small number of prime bullocks forward, these did not participate in the decline. Extra heavy, bullocks sold up to £12, good to £11, light and medium to £8 10s, extra heavy heifers £8 to £9 ss, good to £8, light £4 -to £5 10s. Fat Sheep—3464 were penned, constituting a large yarding.. Freezing buyers were again operating, and.. consequently, prices all round wero much on a par with those ruling last woekj with the exception of. unfinished and inferior ewes, which were slightly easier. Good wethers 19s 6d to 21s, extra to 22s 6d, medium 16s 6d to 18s, light and inferior 15s to 16s, best ewes 17s to 18s, extra to 21 s 6d, medium 13s to 14s, inferior 9s to lis.
Fat Lambs—29S7 wero penned. Thero was a* fair yarding, of good quality, and a keen demand for .-export. Prices at the beginning of the sale were a shade firmer than last week's rates, but _» the salo progressed prices cased, closing on a par with those ruling last week. Best 16s to 17s 6d. extra to ISs 6d. medium to los, light 13s to 14sPigs—There was a small yarding, only 80 being penned. Competition was keen, and prices were on a par with thoso ruling last week, with the exception of store pigs, which showed a slight advance.
