GREENDALE.
The weathor conditions during the past week have been changeable, hut decidedly wintry. The rain oi Tuesday last and also of Sunday (totalling -1.15 inches) has put a complete stop to all farm work, the land, for tho time, being r-uito water-logged. Previous to the rain, the land was in splendid condition for potato-digging, and somo growers had made a start lifting their crops, but no more can be done at this kind of work for some little time now. So far, potato crops promise to be light, there having been too much rain in the earlier port of the season. Tho hills have received a fairly heavy coating of snow, and severe frosts arc now to be expected.
