Tho heavy sou-west rain-storm that sot in on Monday night, following upon tho downfall of last week, will effectually cheek deb'veries of grain, etc., from tho paddock. Tho railway stations are, howevor, well filled, and an opportunity will now bo afforded of relieving them. It i« not anticipated that tho rain will have any effect upon the wheat market, for * besides tho grain in tho railway sheds, merchants have supplies in storo from which to fill immediate* orders. The advent of winter weather lias had a firming effect upon the market for oats, and they are now worth about a penny per bushel more than last wcok. A grado boing quoted up to 2.f Id, and B grado to 2s, at country stations. Oatshcaf chaff is inclined to be firmer, and cutting and delivery will bo chepked for a time. The rain will havo the most serious effect upon the potato crop, and considerable damage is likely to bo done on tho low-lying land. The market is nominal at £4 ]0e at country stations, but digging and delivering will now be delayed till tho ground is fit to get on to again. The undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers at. country stations., free of commission, except where otherwise stated.
