to the Lyttelton railway station, but about ten years ago ho disposed of tho coaching business, and was appointed foreman of the road men of the Port Victoria Road Board, and afterwards in the same capacity under tho' Mount Herbert County Council for tho Governor's Bay portion of tho County. There was a. i;ood attendance. Tho Vicar, on behalf of the settlers, presented Mr and Mrs Teape with a handsome tea and coffee, set in silver, suitably ongraved- Mr Carpenter, MrD. Bamford, Mr It. Allan, etc?, also spoke, wishing Mr and Mrs Teape good health, and prosperity in their new home. Mr Teape returned thanks. Mr F. Tapley, on behalf of the choir of St. Cuthbert's, presented Miss Teane with a Church service ar.d a ladies' companion. Mies Jrl. Teape was aleo presented with some hooks.
