(PRESS association telegram.) DUNEDIN. April 24. At Burnsido to-day 200 fat cattle were yarded. Thc quality was better than has been in tho yards for some timo, a good number of the pens consisting of primo bullocks. As tho number was in excels of requirements, prices wero ensier, especially for cows and heifers, but bullocks were more keenly competed for. Extra heavy bullocks'£li 5s to £13 ss, good £9 los to £11, light nnd medium £6 10s to £9; extra heavy heifers £8 5s to £9. good t.7 to £8, medium £5 10s to £6 15a, light £4 to £5 ss. Fat Sheep.—There was a very large yarding, 411S being penned. A fair proportion coiisisteeT of prime, finished wethers, for which there was a spirited demand. Tho bulk eif the yarding, however, consisted of ewes, for which prices wore fully Is below last week's rates. Freezing buyers were oporating for well-finished light-w-eight wethers and ewes, with the result that ruling rates were evenly maintained. Prime heavy wethers to 22s 9d, gocd 17s to 19s (>d. light los to lfis 6d; extra heavy ewes to 19s 9*l, good 13s to 15s 6d, medium 10s to 12s 6d, light and unfinished 7s to 9s Gel. Fat Lambs.—l 926 were penned, a number of which were of extra good quality and weight. Exporters were operating freely, and secured the largest portion of the entry. Prices were fully up to late rates. One of tho features was the keenness of competition. Extra heavy l&s 6*l to 20s. heavy'l6s to 17s Gd, medium 13s 6d to 153, light and unfinished 12s to 13s. Pigs.—lSO were penned, aud there wr.s good competition for all classes. Suckers lis to 14s, slips 16s to 21s, stores 22s Gd to 40s, porkers 32s to 425, light baconcr 44s to 525, heavy 56s to 735.
