MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
An enthusiastic meeting of Mr J. J. DougaH's Committee and friends was held last night, when encouraging reports wero received from various districts. It was announced that arrangements had been made for the candidate to address public meetings in the various suburbs. Much satisfaction was expressed at tho announcement by representatives of tho Citizens' Association that the Association would accord Mr Dougall its hearty support. Mr Dougall advertises his first meeting, which will be held in the King's Theatro at 8 p.m. to-night. , At'a meeting of the City aud'Suburban Burgesses' -Association last evening, it was decided to formulate a series of questions for tho consideration- of tho candidates for the .office of Mayor of Christchurch, who. aro to . address the citizens this evening.
A meeting of Mr H. Holland's friends and supporters will be held in tho Manchester street Chambers to-night.
