KAIAPOI.

(Before Messrs J. H. Blackwell and R. T. Snoyd. J.P.'s.) Reuben McCoy, on two charges of using obscene language at the Pier Hotel, was fined 20s on each, with costs 7s. The defendant was further charged on three informations with violent assaults, and lined 20s on each, with 6s costs. In default of payment of the fines the imprisonment was fixed at 7 days on tho respective counts. For resisting Constable Holmes, he was further lined 40s, with costs 7s. in default fourteen days' imprisonment, and ordered to pay 10s for damage to tho constable's shako, with costs "s. The defendant's violent conduct cost him the sum of £8 16s.
