The New Zealand Provision and Produce Company have' received the following cable from their LondcSi principals :— "We have sold the c.c. There is a larger quantity of wheat now offering, and the condition is somewhat better than of that which previously came on tho market. Tho dcmar.d is quieter, and with more samples to chose from, buyers aro exercising more- discrimination in making their purchases. Prices remain tho same, prime samples making 3s 4<l to 3s sd, and inferior and seconds 3s to 3s 3d. * Oats are not coming forward so freely as wheat, but there is still a good demand at late rates. The shipments of oats to Australia have this seawn J>een on a much more liberal scale than last year. Since January Ist to a fortnight 14.029 sacks had been received at Melbourne, as against none for the same period last year, and there have also been considerable shipments to Sydney. There is no change in oatsheaf chaff or potatoes. Onions are firmer, there being a good demand, and the price is now £6 per ton-at stations. . The undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers at country stations, freo of commission, except where oflierwise stated:— New Wheat—3s 4d to 3s sd, and.3s to 3s 3d for fowl wheat, at country stations. . New Barley (nominal) —Prime malting 4s to 4s 6d, extra prime to os, at country stations. New Oats—Algerians 2s to 2s Id, Gartons A grade Is lid to 2s, B grade Is 10d to Is lid. at country stations.
