THE CORONATION INVITATIONS.
* A QUESTION AND AN" ANSWER.
(special to "th* pbbss.") WELLINGTON, September 29. In tho Legislative Council yesterday, in reply to the Hon. C. H. Mills, who asked why members of the Legislative Council did not receive copies of the invitations extended on two occasions to eight raembera of the New Zealand Parliament to be present at the Coronation, and also whether the Minister •would lay the correspondence on * tho subject on the table, Sir John Findlay eaid that the answer to the first question would be found in "Hansard," No. 10, 1911. In answer to the other question he said "No." This afternoon the Hon. C. H. Mills gave notice to move:—"Thie Council is dissatisfied with the crude, undignified, and discourteous reply given by , the AttorneyGtneral yesterday to questions on the Order-Paper respecting the Coronation invitations; and the Council is also dissatisfied with his curt refusal to lay on the table any papers, correspondence, cables, etc., relating to the matter, which the Council is entitled to see, and which refusal ie an insult to the Council." The Attorney-General remarked that he did not think this was' a proper motion. However, he would be able to express his opinion later.
