WELLINGTON NOTES.
» (special to "xna frkss.") WELLINGTON, Juno 16. The local hospital is in an overcrowded state, and medical men are to bo notified that they should recommend only urgent cases for admission. The private hospitals liavo also been kept very busy of late. It is euggested that the city schools should be closed for a. month, with a view to stamping out infections diseases such as measles and scarlet fever, that have recently been prevalent. The old fever ward at the hospital has been cleaned and mad© ready for diptheria cases. In regard to the enrolment of voters it is explained that the count will bo token in the cities on 9th July! and in country districts on 10th July. Householders' schedules will bo distributed in the cities, but in the country the enumerators will rely on field books. The New Zealand students -who go to study at tho Australian Military College left by tho Sydney steamer this afternoon. Before leaving they were addressed by the Commandant (MajorGeneral Godley), who reminded thorn that they represented New Zealand and that they should conduct themselves while- away in a manner which would ho a credit to the country of their birth.
