DARFIELD.
On Friday, at Darfield market, 2100 sheep and lambs came to hand, of which 1560 wero in the fat pens, consisting of nearly all lambs, 1190 being penned, which, with two or three exceptions, were of good to prime freezing quality, but a few rejects were noticeable through most lines. A few odd lots of wethers and ewes, both merino and erossbreds, made up the balance of fats. Lambs, mostly wether lines, formed about half the yarding of stores, the balance being a few lots of aged erossbreds and merino ewes, no wethers being penned. There was a moderate attendance, but bidding for all fats, but particularly lambs, was strong at top prices, all being sold, the bulk at from 14s 4d to 16s lOd, only a few selling below these figures. In the store pens the only lines to chango hands wero lambs, of which 1000 sold, and ono small lot of potter ewes. Prices were:—Fat crossbred wethers, 15s Id to 16s 3d; fat lambs, 14s 4d to 16s lOd; light unfinished sorts, 10s lOd to 13s 9d; fat crossbred ewes, 9s 6d to 12s 6d; merino wethers (forward and fats). 5s 8d to 7s 3d; fat merino ewes, 8_ 6d; store wethor lambs, 7s 2d to 8s 6d; small culls, 4s 9d; crossbred potters, 2s 6d. Noticeable sales wero:— Account A. Cook, 85 fat lambs 16s lOd; H. Dysart, 163 at 16s sd; C. McCausland, 128 at 18s 2d; Jarman's Trustees, 286 at Ms: G. Manson, 61 at 15s 2d; C. McCausland, 25 at los Id; Chas. R.udd. 23 at 15s; McClellnnd Bros. 29 at 15s: G. McLaughlan, 90 at 14s 6d; J. R, Cullen, 221 at 13s 9d to 14s 4d.
