THE DISPUTED POLLS.
FRESH DATES FIXED
The upsetting of tho recent polls for tho election of Harbour Board members to represent the Waimairi County and the Paparua combined district, has made it necessary to Ihold fresh polls, and these will bo taken 'next month. For the Paparua combined district two members are required, and tho election will he held on Tuesday, June 13th, nominations closing at noon on June 6th at the County office, Yaldhurst. For the "Waimairi County one -representative is to be elected. Nomination closo at noon on June 7th. at the Waimairi County Council office, Hereford street, and the election* will bo held on June 14th. The contest will really he fought on tho canal issue. At the elections, which were afterwards upset, the anticanal candidates were returned by small majorities, the voting being os follows: —. Waimairi. County (one member): — W. Dun 100 (anti-canalite) 417, J. J. Dougall (canalitc) 410. Paparua Combined District (two members): —J. Storrv 540 and '_?. D. Boag _3<'.(anti-canalites), 0. -Scott d_o and J. Richardson 499 (canalites).
