THE LIBERALS JUBILANT.

(Received April 27th, 10.15 p.m.) SYT>NEY, April 27. Excepting in W 7 est Australia, where "Yes" maintains the lead on both issues, the referenda returns now to hand have materially strengthened the position of the "Noes" in all States. The Liberals are jubilant at the result. Tho organiser of the party claims that it is a victory for the commonsense of the real democracy of tho country over the extremist* of the Labour Party. Mr Chris. Watson, a Labour leader, on tho other hand, claims that tho triumph is duo to the immense financial resources at the disposal of their opponents. He believes that a majority of tho people, if they had them placed clearly before them, would favour tho proposed amendments of tho Constitution. (Received April 28th, 12.20 a.m.) SYDNEY. April 27.
