SHEFFIELD.
At Sheffield sale on Friday the yarding of sheep and lambs totalled lfl'/O. of which -Ul were fats. Lambs ac counted for 385, mostly of good quality. a line of 204, account of Mr C. Gamble, topping the market at 15s 4d. The stores, with the exception of two sinail lots of ewes, were made up of wethers and lambs, in about equal proportions, and included two or three lots of nice quality, notably a line of 450 wethers sent in by Mr D. McMillan, and about 500 halfbred lambs in forward condition account Mr F. J. Savill. There was a fair attendance. Competition for fat lambs and good rape sorts was strong, but wethers met with a poor demand, the bulk of the yarding being withdrawn. All sheep were shorn. Prices were:—Fat crossbred wethers 15s 3d; fat crossbred ewes, 10s 8d to lis 3d; fat iambs, 12s 7d to 14s 3d, extra los 4d to 15s 7d; twotooth crossbred wethers, 0s 7<l to lis Id (four, six, and eighttobth withdrawn at from 13s lid to 14s); halfbred rape lambs. 12s to 12s 3d; store lambs, 10s 11a; aged dry crosshred ewes, os 7d; sound-mouth
merino ewes. Is Sd. About 25 head of cattle were yarded: all sott well. Milch cows, £6 2s 6d to £10 <s Cd, -printers, £5 to £G 18-month steers, £3 2s Cd; yearlings, 33-; calves. 20s.
