SHIPPING NOTES.
Tho schooner Amelia Sims, which left Lyttelton last Friday with 1305 sacks of produce, made a fast passage of 26 hours to Wellington, whore eho arrived on Saturday evening. Tho vessel was to have left again yesterday for Lyttelton to load another cargo of produce for Wellington. The steamer Strathclyde will be floated out of dock to-morrow, aiid will be taien back to tho wharf. The work of repairing the deck damages and the broken gudgeon on the stern post is now being carried out The vessel will go into dock again later on to have her new rudder fitted and to be cleaned and repainted. ... • Immediately after her arrival from Kaiapoi yesterday morning the Wootton was taken up on the slip, for repairs to her rudder, which was slightly damaged when the vessel was entering the Waimakariri river last week. The steamer will bo ready to come off tho slip on Friday. ~,_-•• The Kniraki steamed out of the Kaiapoi river yesterday for Greymouth, via Lyttelton, with produce. . . , The New Zealand Shipping Company s new triple screw combination steamer Rotorua. on her maiden voyage to' New Zealand, arrived at Hobart at noon yesterday from London, via Plymouth, Tenoriffc, and Capetown. The vessel is two days early and is now due at Wellington on. Saturday night or Sunday morning and at Lyttelton about a week later. The New Zealand Shipping Company s st-amer Waimate arrived at Melbourne on Monday night direct from Montreal. A..;ter calling at Sydney the vessel comes on to Jew Zealand ports and is due at Lyttelton about the 27th inst. . The New Zealand Shipping Company s steamer Paparoa is to leavo Napier to-dny for -Wellington, and will arrive here on Sattujjay to complete loading for London. One of the Blackball Coal Company's colliery will arrive here on Saturday to coal the Paparou. Captain Charles Watchlin has rold his interest in the scow Ngaru to the Maorilaml St-.im Shin Company, end has joined the schooner Clyde as mate. The steamer Snowdoniaff. from Bunbury. via Auckland nnd Wellington, wijl arrive hero on Friday to difcharge about 1,000.000 feet of jarrah. She will afterwards go to Dunedin to finish discharging, and will proceed thence to Newcastle to load coal for the Philippine Islands. __ , _ , . , The Tyser line steamer Hswke s Bay, wfiich is due here to-morrow. will leave about Saturday for Dunedin to complete discharging She will afterwards s»o to Brisbane end other Australian ports to load for London.
