COALING THE WARSHIPS.

Although no records were established, some eooct performances were made in coaling the warships from the collier Kaituna on Monday. Starting early on Monday morning, the bluejackets put 400 tons of coal on board HMS. Cambrian (lying in the stream), mc collier was discharging from two hatches and. put the coal out at the rate of 80 tons per hour Work at H.M.S. Encounter was started on Monday afternoon, and in the first hour HO tons were put on board. One of tne hatches was then finished and the rate ot discharging fell a good deal. That there was no stint or fhortage of labour was evidenced by the fact that at one time there were no fewer than 115 bluejackets working in one hold of the Kaituna, filling the bags with coal. The work of coaling H.M.S. Pioneer was carried out yesterday morning.
