An old age pensioner named David Hughes was found dead in his whare at Rakaia on Saturday mon.ing. At an inquest held subsequently a verdict of death from natural causes was returned.

A lad named Peter Grenfol, sixteen years of age, residing at Park road, Addington, met with a somewhat serious accideut at noon yesterday. He was riding a bicycle along Dundas street, and at the corner of Dundas street and Colombo road either ran into, or was run into by, a four-wheel express. One of the horses knocked the boy off his bicycle and the express passed over his chest, breaking several ribs and causing internal injuries. He was immediately conveyed to the hosAn inquest will be held at tlw hospital at. 12.30 to-day on the body of n nine-weeks-old child named Victr.r Fiancis Burnett, who died yesterday at the institution. Yesterday afternoon the seven-year-old daughter of Arthur Stewart, <f Hinds, was accidentally run over by an iron roller on which she had been riding, and was killed instantaneously.

Archie Myers, aged 32 years, a married man living at Devonport, died this morning after taking a seidlitz powder. After swallowing the powder, Myers said that it was bitter. Symptoms ot strychnine poisoning ensued. A doctor attended Myers, but ho died two hours later.

GISBORNE, December 5. Myrtle Jane Johnson, aged eighteen months, the daughter of a Borough Council employee, has died, as a result of drinking carbolic oil, which had been left on a table in a saucer to keep flies away.

PALMERSTON NORTH, Dec. 5

David Shannon, aged about 22 years, a fly-boy in a flnxmill at Rangitane, was drowned in tbo Manawatu river yesterday.
