AMBULANCE DAY.
A meeting of the Ladies' Ambulance Day Committee was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs A. E. G. Rhodes presiding. It was reported that the permission of the City Council had been obtained to establish stations in the city streets, and equip these with tables and chairs and notices stating the object of the day. A list of proposed stations vras approved, and it was decided to request the police to exercise surveillance over the stations. Several owners of motor-cars have offered the use of their cars, and these offers have been thankfully accepted, as the cars will be found useful in reaching some of the out-stations and other places which it is intended shall be canvassed. The offer of some of the Boy Scouts to be in attendance on the lady helpers at the various stations, and to act as messengers, was aiso accepted with thanks. Various sub-com-mittees were appointed, and it is hoped that on Ambulance Day the public will recognise by responding liberally to the efforts of those who are endeavouring to raise money which will be expended for their benefit.
