LEESTON.

His Lordship Bishop Grimes, accompanied by the Rev. Father Hylaiiel. of Rangiora. arrived at Leesten on Saturday. On Sunday the Bishop commenced the episcopal visitation of tho Leeston parish. Mass, with the usual ceremonies of a visitation, was celebrated at tho Church of Our Lady or the Rosary at 11 a.m.. the Bishop and the Itev. Fathers Hyland and Hills taking part. Bishop Grimes and Father Hyland delivered short- addresses m reference to th© Catholic Cathedral at Christchurch, in aid of which a collection was taken at the close of the service. Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church. South bridge, at 9.30 a.m. by tho Rev. Father Hyland. At 3 p'm. a. confirmation service was held at Leeston, when his Lordship cemferred confirmation on eleven candidates who had been prepared by the nuns and tho Rev. Father Hills. There. was a large, congregation, and after the candidates had been confirmed, the Bishop delivered an impressive address. The ceremony closed with th© Benediction. Tuesday, being All Saints' Day. Mass was celebrated at Leeston and' Southbridge. The Rev. Father Hvland took th© service at Southbridge.
