WEST OXFORD.
After experiencing weather during October which practically amounted to a drought, and being accentuated by warm nor'-we-stors. causing exce.-*ive evaporation lrom the soil, farmers' hopes of good crops had sunk down to zero, when they were lavoured by a splendid shower from the north-cast at noon on Tuesday, after which the wind veered to the south-west, and the nun came down merrily. The rain will be especially welcomed by pastorahsts, who are now'in the middle of the lambing season. Some have cut and tailed, and report a very good percentage, a lid tlio present rain will tend to the young lambs a good start.
