HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLES.
TO THE KDITOR 01" "THE KftBBS."
Sir.—The utter absurdity of these quotations is apparent when the foLrow- . in.; quotations, cabled during the last few days, are compared with actual cables just received:—Cocksfoot has been recently cabled by the High Commissioner at 69s per cwt, whereas today's cables indicate the rahi© as 575. Partridge peas were cabled at 565, today's cabled quotation is 42s c.i.f. London. The High Commissioner's cables are not only misleading to farmer and merchant alike, but must be a source ot expense to the country, and have a very injurious effect on the export trade generally.—Yours, etc., A.C.W. April 26th.
